Worst experience EVER! Scammed over $425! BUYER BEWARE.

This has been the worst experience when buying a car. I was fed NOTHING BUT LIES.

BEFORE I purchased my vehicle, I had to speak to a person and go over all the contracts. I told them at this time, that I am EXEMPT from DMV registration fees and I wanted to transfer my Disabled Veteran Plates to this car and I was told that is not a problem. About 1 week before my tags that came with vehicle expired, I called back and they said they were not able to process my transfer and that I paid $428 for tags. If you would have told me EARLIER, I COULD HAVE DONE IT!

So I called them again and spoke to a supervisor, who sent me a link to upload new registration that shows exempt status to proceed with a refund. Then 15 minutes later, Larry (line worker) emailed me and said I’m not getting a refund because the regular registration was already processed. IT SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN PROCESSED!

There are multiple notes in their system under my account that state that CARVANA WILL transfer my Disabled Plates, even though they didn’t, and multiple notes showing I am exempt from DMV fees and registration yet Carvana charged me anyways, then multiple notes saying I will receive refund once documentation is submitted, it then backtracked and said non-refundable because the registration was already processed, when it shouldn’t have been!

I will be pursuing legal action if this is not fixed today when the supervisor calls me back...well, we've been on this ride before. They usually never call or just lie to get me off the phone!

I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND NOR USE THIS UNETHICAL BUSINESS AGAIN!

Worst buying experience

I purchased a vehicle 5 months ago and have had several issues! I am still having problems, they have not sent the title to the lender - 5 months after purchase! Do not buy from here, you will regret it They do not care about the customers!

A nightmare experience that continues.

I had a few minutes to see the ABUNDANCE of positive reviews on the site, and honestly am finding all these 5-star ratings "too good" to be true. It's almost apparent they are fake, and paid for.

My car arrives after 14 days of "shipping" (in October), with two flat tires. Just dropped off, no delivery whatsoever. Since it took such a long time to ship, my 7-day test drive had expired. After informing the staff several times about this issue, no one corrected the 7-day timeframe to my knowledge, nor offered to correct the two flat tires I sent pictures of.

Then, withheld my temporary plates for 14 days (which would not allow any test drive of the car whatsoever) because they "lost my paperwork". After re-submitting the paperwork at least 3 times, they finally released my temporary plates so I could test drive, only to then refuse any repairs to the car.

I was able to drive the car for two weeks, until those temporary plates ran out - only to be told I would need to just wait on the actual plates to arrive. WELL, it has been four months! Four months of constant phone calls, chats, and constant requests to expedite this.

Carvana graciously offered to reserve me a rental car at a location over 4 hours away! (After requesting them to relocate the reservation, I was denied.) After arriving to the rental car location, they didn't have my reservation information from Carvana properly, and would not supply a car. So I drove home - another 4 hours with no car.

They then offered $250 - as I have been out a car I paid for over 4 months.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Horrible company

Do not buy a car from Carvana. There is nothing wrong with the car but it has been almost 2 months and they have failed to register it. They continue to kick the can down the road and refuse to give me any direct answers. I have talked to the DOL and all they need is for someone from Carvana to call to complete the payment but Carvana won't do it. My temp plates have expired and I am paying for a vehicle I cannot drive. It's been 2 weeks since my plates expired and they are telling me it could be another week or so but no real answers.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Estimate based on fraudulent KBB value

KBB value I just checked last week and this shows about $2000 less than what the details show on the KBB website itself. Very low offer compared to what the vehicle value states. This is called fraud.

Carvana cancelled pick up 1 hour before pick-up...1 hour!

Bad customer service. I received a call this am, saying the car arrived at their location with a cracked windshield from "weather issues." Huh? I had specifically rearranged my work schedule and changed over insurance from old to new to pick up today, was told they could only use safelight for windshield and they are closed today. I suggested they find another company to do the replacement today, was advised they could not. This should have been done. It's costing me money to wait for this to be fixed.

Here is a suggestion for Carvana...inspect the vehicle a day prior so this doesn't happen.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Avoid

Absolute disaster. Don't trust the reviews on the Carvana site. There is no method to leave a negative review on there. Found the car we wanted and went through the credit check, financing details, insurance, etc. Everything started out great...then...delivery delayed (flat tire). Then...delivery delayed (couldn't fix flat tire). Then...delivery delayed (need to order tires). Then delivery delayed (who knows). Then..delivery delayed (would not have known but luckily I called to confirm delivery for next day). Nope...delivery delayed again. Cancelled purchase. Cost me a month's worth of car insurance and having to borrow a car for a month waiting. Avoid the headaches. Not worth it, especially with the $400 delivery fee.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Worst Experience of Car Buying Life

Originally supposed to have delivery on 3/13, but I was called the day before saying that the rear window had been damaged and they needed to delay delivery in order to send it out to be repaired. Fine. Reschedule delivery for 3/27. I received a call earlier this week to say that the repair was on schedule and delivery was still showing as 3/27.

Got a call a little while ago (3/26) saying that the repair is not something they can do in house and that it will have to be sent out for repairs and they will need to postpone the delivery. This is the worst car buying experience I have ever had. I have already made a car payment on this car and I am paying for insurance. They told me two weeks ago that it was being sent out for repairs, yet they call me the day before delivery to tell me that they need to send it out for repairs? Does this car really even exist? Buy local. That's my advice.

Big pain just getting started

Under the circumstances of the pandemic, it seemed to make sense to give Carvana a try. We found a 2017 Ford Escape for a little under $20K that would seem to fit us well and got a decent trade-in value offer for our old Honda CR-V. All seemed well until I tried to complete the transaction. We have the cash on hand and don't need financing, so I clicked on the cash option.

Next, it took me to a screen for extended warranties. We don't want one, but there was no option for that on the screen. The only two choices were a $950 upcharge for a 2-year warranty (with mileage limitations) or a $1000 upcharge for a 4-year warranty with a slightly higher mileage limit. I saw nothing about a mandatory extended warranty payment before this point, and especially since we were going to pay cash, I see no reason we should be forced to get one. (Apparently, they are not as transparent as they claim.) Nonetheless, I clicked on the 4-year option with the thought of worrying about it later.

Next it took me to a page where I was supposed to upload a copy of my the front and back of my driver's license, and that is where I just decided to give up on the whole thing. Using the scanner of our high-quality computer printer to capture the license image (looked perfectly legible to me) three times the website kept telling me the image wasn't good enough and I should try again. Having already wasted a half-hour on this one step and not knowing how many other tedious steps there were in the process, I just decided Carvana is not for me.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Stay away from Carvana

Total disaster from beginning to end. Don’t get fooled by their shiny vending machines. When it comes to the paperwork and customer service they are a horror. They lost the check that my lender sent to them. Obviously the onus was on me to go to the lender and ask to cut Carvana another check. Hours of time wasted with at least 6-7 of Carvana agents who are by the way confrontational with no sense of responsibility.

Another Carvana nightmare story: I originally purchased an extended warranty for the car I bought from Carvana from the company on the Carvana website (Silverrock). Then I changed my mind and canceled within the allowable period. It took Silverrock (3rd party insurance company) three weeks to issue a refund check (no problem, I understand), but instead of sending the check to me, they said they can only mail it to Carvana and Carvana then mails it to me?! I’ve been contacting Carvava numerous times for more than 10 days to follow up to no avail. Excuse after excuse. The person who originally enquired from Accounting is not working currently. She will follow up again whenever she is back to work?! We don’t wanna confuse Accounting by sending another email?! Seriously? You think people were born yesterday? They also steadfast refuse to send any confirmation email or any written acknowledgment as to where the whole process stands. I think they are gonna steal my $1100 (systematic robbery).

I will never do business with these charlatans again and will tell the same to anyone I know. In fact, I am filing a formal complaint with BBB and taking legal action as well.

Carvana's response reports a "rigorous 150-point inspection" but somehow checking for oil leaks isn't in there. I fully believe Carvana screwed up the drain plug and added silicone to hide a leak which ended up being the oil pan.
