Over promise, under delivery should be their motto

After not getting the vehicle I wanted because they waited until the vehicle was sold to test drive it to find out there was a serious problem, my car was delivered by someone who was not a notary in my state. So I had to take my time to get the paperwork notarized which was what they were supposed to do. Then they claim the DMV was delayed so one day before my temporary registration expires they tell me there is nothing they can do. So I am stuck with a car I’m paying for but can’t drive and their solution is to wait for the DMV!

I have never been treated with less respect of concern in my life. I bought this car as a surprise for my wife, thank you Carvana, you ruined it.

Please stay away from these jerks, great business model but they don’t have what it take to succeed.

I will NEVER use Carvana again and I will use my voice and social media to make sure anyone I know does NOT use them either!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Don’t trust their inspection or process

The buying experience was pretty good...easy to search inventory, and the vehicles are a fair price.

However, I had several issues with my purchase.

1) They forgot to make the payment to my bank for my existing loan on the vehicle I traded in, and I called them to ask about it a couple of days before the payment date, and luckily they were able to get the payoff completed in time. If I hadn’t called there would have been late charges.

2) The "150 point inspection" is a joke. We noticed spongy braking a day after driving the vehicle, and it turned out all 4 brake rotors were completely rusted and the pads and rotors had to be replaced. The mechanic said it was the worst they’ve seen, but the car was originally from New Jersey where rust buildup is a lot more prevalent, and this was in Arizona.

3) When I took the vehicle in for a scheduled inspection to the dealer 15 days after purchase, they found the power steering was leaking, the battery was almost dead, and the alignment was off. Also, the front tires were 7/32 and the rear were 8/32 in tread depth (basically I’m going to have to spend $700 in the next 6 months to replace them).

Carvana’s 100 day/4,189 mile warranty covered the repairs (totaling $2,500 so far), but if I relied on Carvana’s inspection, I would have been screwed.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Buyer beware BIG TIME!

I bought my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan on 3/3/19. Supposedly everything "passed" inspection. Fast forward to late May 2019. My brakes are going, they are grinding away at the rotors and oh what's that? A FIRE! Yes, actual FLAMES from my rear driver's side braking system. I contact Carvana, they will do nothing, claim it's "wear and tear". I get the BBB involved as this is NOT wear and tear, this is a defective vehicle. Carvana requests documentation from a certified repair facility. I send documents from TWO different places supporting that this is NO WAY wear and tear! Carvana STILL refuses to do anything. I am a single mom, on medical leave with ZERO income who now has a vehicle that I CANNOT drive because it is unsafe and could catch fire again at any time (per both mechanics). Buyer beware! This "company" has no problem selling defective vehicles and will refuse to do anything about them but to blame you the customer. I will NEVER buy from here again and make sure everyone I know knows to stay FAR away!

False advertising

Attempted to sell my 2011 Outback. After 2 weeks, I gave up. They ask for a copy of the title - I scanned and sent. No good - they wanted it in COLOR! Titles in my state are pretty much black and white!

And they use false advertising - their ads all claim that you have the choice of dropping it off or they will pick up. SIX TIMES I attempted to schedule for them to pick up, but the only choice I was given was to drive it to another state and drop it off!

I gave up - and I may file a complaint with the FTC and their state attorney general for their illegal false advertising.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

First and last

We thought we would give Carvana a try since we were getting a car for a son out of state. Every step of the way in the process there were hoops to jump thru or wrong information given. The car delivery was not on time. The paperwork had to be redone 3 times. The registration took forever. Had to drive with expired temp tags for 2 months now. The plates have not been delivered after 2 attempts. Now have to waste more time at the DMV. We have wasted so much time on the phone just trying to actually talk to someone and then to be told they can't help! Had to replace a tire after only having a car for two months (I know, wear and tear). We have bought several cars now, and are aware of how it works. Carvana, bottom line, doesn't have their act together and doesn't care about its buyers!

Idiots

What a bunch of incompetent idiots! First they had 2 different stories about the down payment. Then this girl Ashley screwed up my delivery day because she didn't check something and I lost my original delivery day. (Very rude person.) At the day of the delivery, the guy had to call someone because they screwed up the down payment method. Car has more dents and scratches than disclosed and now I'm waiting for a check ($100, it's a JOKE, but ok) and still waiting for registration. (If I'm not going to get registration they will not going to get their payment, simple.) And today I got the email from them that they did not get the down payment check (guy took it before he gave me my paperwork) and when I tried to call them I was moved from one department to the other, placed on hold without asking me to wait and going nowhere with this incompetent bunch of idiots I was speaking to (I'm sure not everyone is an idiot like the few I talked to). From now on I'm talking only to managers at Carvana and I'll record every conversation we have. Do yourself a favor people and stay the heck away from this incompetence.

Please avoid

Unbelievably, embarrassingly, sickeningly bad.

Literally, every step of this process was TORTURE and DELAY and I had to call every couple of days to ensure that things would stay on track because every time I called, SOMETHING ELSE WAS WRONG.

I finally received my car after weeks and weeks of waiting. 40 days later, I call to check up on my registration because my 45-day tags are about to expire and I get an email from Carvana that "there was a mistake with their system" and my documents were lost. Now I need to re-sign and notarize all documentation so that THE 45 DAY REGISTRATION PROCESS CAN START AGAIN. Oh, and if I wouldn’t have called, they wouldn’t have known there was an issue...quality control problem?

Please for the love of all that is good, avoid Carvana. It’s a nice idea, but is managed and run terribly.

They'll take your money and run!

We initially thought Carvana was a great experience...Little did we know that when we actually had a problem with the vehicle we bought, Carvana would not stand behind their product. We called on Friday when we were still under warranty and were told to take the vehicle in on Monday. Our travel over the weekend made our mileage go over and now CARVANA/SILVERROCK will not cover the $855 expense due to a faulty electrical system. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

10/21/19 Found the car back for sale on their website and no email letting me know. With it being back up this soon, that means there was no "fix" to the car and I was lied to. Very dishonest and poor business practices.

Inaccurate car information

I purchased a Toyota Rav 4 and it did not have the features that were listed on the website. I ordered another Rav 4 to swap with the one I purchased and they delivered the car but it was not the color that I was expecting. It was supposed to be black but it was purple. I had contacted customer service to verify the color was black because it looked purple in the pictures. They assured me the color was black but when the car arrived it was purple. The website listed the color as black, but the day it was delivered the website was changed to say it was purple. Also, the mileage was 100 miles over what they said it was supposed to be. Now I'm stuck with the wrong color car. I could do a 3rd swap but it is a take it or leave it with no 7 days to try it out. Read the fine print. Buyer beware! Also, the shipping fee is non-refundable if you decide to reject the car. This is not made clear up-front. This company is dishonest. Stay far far away. As big of a hassle as a car dealership can be, I'd much rather deal with people face to face and have all the facts then get scammed by a company such as Carvana.

Not hype.

I purchased a car from this site thinking it would run smoothly and it has been anything but that. I was supposed to pick up my car on Sunday (19th), I received an email saying my car was on a broken down truck and wouldn't be here that day and had to reschedule until Tuesday (21st). I received another email saying my car was scanned onto another truck going a different way, saying I have to reschedule to Thursday (23rd), mind you, I have two jobs and telling your employer that your way of transportation got scanned into a different county is not okay. Carvana not only transferred me through departments but did not do anything to try to fix it. I paid shipping and here it will be five days late and all I got was an "I'm sorry." I had to pay extra on insurance to make sure I had it by Sunday and here it is days later, still no car and still no help from Carvana. I'm not a happy customer and I will not recommend Carvana.
