Noom good

Noom has helped me lose over 12 lbs in four weeks. It makes it easy to record food intake and provides a lot of information, tips, and humor to keep you losing weight. It doesn't teach you how to diet; it teaches you how to eat and to live the rest of your life.

The boost I needed

I went into Noom a little apprehensively after reading a few reviews and watching some on YouTube. I'm so happy I took the plunge anyway! I've been on the program for a little over six weeks and have lost twelve pounds!

The best part of the app for me is the logging reminders I get throughout the day. It keeps me on track with my food, and I love the red, yellow, green food labels to encourage me to add more green to my diet. I love the fact I can eat anything, but I've learned to "tame my elephant" and make sure my "rider" is in charge of my food choices.

Oh, and the recipes are #freakingamazing (Noom loves hashtags).

The Noomers are hilarious, and the articles make losing weight fun. There is a bit of excitement to each day, and I no longer fear the scale.

I plan on continuing the program for as long as I need!

Noom experience 2019 so far

It's five weeks into the Noom program for me. In that time I have learned more about my own relationships with food and my behaviors that lead to less healthy food choices. I value the program's approach which is a balanced combination of food education, calorie intake regulation, and behavioral changes. This approach has given me a better understanding of how my health and lifestyle can look in the future and is giving me the tools to make changes in a mindful and realistic manner. Noom has also made changes in my household and with my kids. While I understood healthy eating and behaviors prior to starting Noom, I now have the tools to better model this for my kids. I feel that I am better demonstrating a healthy lifestyle for my kids, rather than just telling them what they should do. Thanks, Noom, you are highly recommended.

I'm impressed

I have tried several diets over my lifetime and always struggled with what I had to eat as per the diet. Noom allows you to choose what you want to eat and when, you just have to watch the calories, which is so easy. Enter what you had for breakfast and it tells you the calories. Ditto for the rest of the day. I found that most time during summer, I had enough calories left at the end of the day so I could have a nice cold beer, and yes, it was included in the massive database of food. You then become aware that it's your choice to succeed. Simple, give it a go.

Good but needs more

There is a lot good about the program. The support is great and the daily information is helpful. A lot I knew, a lot I didn't. The writing style is accessible and casual and works well.

There is a lot lacking though. First, you can only access from your phone. So, if you don't have your phone at work with you, you can't make a last minute adjustment. The biggest problem is the food tracking. You can't create a food and save it. You can't create a recipe and save it. You have to guess how much each ingredient is and when cooking for a family, that just isn't easy. You can't preplan either. There is an emphasis on planning your meals for a week, but there is no support in the program for it. If I change a meal at the last minute, I can't simply move it to another day. This is a HUGE flaw because it means you have to constantly consult other programs or keep packaging around to get accurate nutritional information.

Logging other exercise was not intuitive, and I had to actually ask my coach how to do it. The exercises aren't very descriptive. For example, I take water aerobics and can't figure out the best way to log it.

Maybe it is an age thing, but I do not find this to be the best support for a working adult. Maybe it is better for millennials as the advertisements claim. I paid for eight months so I will see it through, but I think after that I will go back to Weight Watchers that is a lot friendlier.

Change the way you feel about "dieting"

Noom has been such an enlightening experience for me. My interest in diets and healthy eating span over 20 years, always trying to be lighter, leaner, healthier. Foods tended to fall in the "good" or "bad" categories only, setting me up to fail when I ate something "bad" and feeling deprived when only eating from the "good" list. My extremes were just how my life was going to be, and I dealt with it the best I could.

Noom helps me see foods and eating in a new light. My knowledge of what is healthy has grown and my idea of serving sizes has helped me not to overeat, especially when it comes to protein, which used to be almost limitless in my mind. Keeping track of what I eat gives me the freedom to make a choice at the end of the day - do I get to eat some popcorn after dinner tonight? Better check my calorie allowance first. And if I go over that day, no biggie! Just stick to the plan tomorrow!

The psychological and educational side of Noom is probably what sets it apart from every other "diet," as I am learning more about myself and my past behaviors.

I have told all my friends about Noom, as I am seeing a lot of progress toward my end goal and want them to enjoy the same success. I highly recommend this app to anyone looking to tweak their eating habits, lose weight, feel more energetic, sleep better or just be happier.

Great app, have already recommended

Noom has helped me lose my first 10 pounds in the last few weeks.

The app is straightforward and easy to follow. Making decisions is easier with the information provided. Even changing my habits hasn't been as disconcerting as it has been with past attempts thanks to the way information is presented.

I look forward to meals rather than "expecting to fail" at the diet thing. I've become more cognizant of the reasons I choose what I eat, and now I make better choices.

Extremely good app

This app is very good so far. I have been with the program for four weeks and other than my step calculator going on the fritz for a week, it's been terrific - a very real world approach to losing weight and maintaining it.

Noom, BOOM, BOOM!

I joined Noom a little bit more than a month ago. In that time, I have learned quite a bit, and used that knowledge to my benefit. Some of the things I sort of knew in the past, the explanations and sincere care received by not only the coaches but also from other members of the group. Encouragement is shared as are the things we learn.

I am 69 years young and as a young woman I was thin but the years, stress, life, etc. put aging and weight on me a lot, and I failed repeatedly at dieting. When I read a little about Noom, it registered and I joined. Oh, by the way, in that time I have lost 17 lbs and look forward to losing more.

As with any program, desire helps get through the rough times, but even those are lessening. If you need help ever in this group, there is always someone to help.

Best ever weight loss program

This is so much more than a diet. It is a healthy lifestyle program.

I am losing weight, but I am being taught and encouraged to exercise and why. The everyday learning keeps me energized and informed in bite-size amounts of knowledge so that it is completely absorbable. The daily coaching is so inspirational. I highly recommend this program to everyone even those that do not necessarily wanting to lose weight.

Great program

I have been a yo-yo dieter for half my life now, I’ve always been committed to a program, and then once I fall off the wagon, I fall hard and spiral out of control. When I heard about Noom, I was intrigued - a program that focuses on the physiological part of weight loss. I have become very good at following programs - following them carefully, but I could never stick with it. The fact that Noom was going to help me fix my way of thinking was exciting!

I have been on the program for over a month, and I truly love it. Every day I spend about 15 minutes working on learning about some physiological aspect of losing weight, and then I work on eating mindfully and getting my steps in. My way of shifting is changing, and I love it. Are there hard times - of course! But this certainly feels like a program that can be continued throughout life - without the need of the app. I also love that I get a personal coach that checks on my about once a week, and I get a group and another coach to bounce ideas off of on a daily basis. I’ve already lost 13 lbs. I can’t wait to lose more weight and gain a better understanding of my mind!
