I work full time and going to other places can be difficult during the day. BetterHelp was so amazing in the fact that I could schedule sessions during my evening time and the therapist could work with me. Where I live, there were only like 10-12 counselors available. After ruling out the counselors who are specialized in areas I didn’t need, I ended up with only 3-4 counselors. The one I started with wasn’t the greatest fit. When I decided to switch to a different one, I found that the other few that matched what I needed had schedules that didn’t work for me. So I ended up canceling the service.

The concept sounds nice, but it isn’t realistic for all areas of the US. Might as well see some state provided assistance or use your insurance for less frequent sessions in person.

I've had a pretty miserable time actually meeting with counselors. I had a counselor that several times had agreed to meet but then would change the time or would simply not show. Finally, I changed counselors to give BetterHelp another chance, but this happened again. The counselor agreed to meet at 1 pm on Saturday, asked to change the time to 8 am on Sunday, and then did not show for the 8 am appointment.

Thanks, BetterHelp, for wasting my time and taking my money. This continues to be an issue. I've switched counselors, and she has rescheduled and canceled on me last minute multiple times now. For example, this past week, we were scheduled to meet on Saturday at 8 pm and then she rescheduled for Sunday at 8 pm without my consent. Then she didn't show up for the 8 pm appointment on Sunday. When I messaged her at 8:05 pm, she asked to reschedule for later in the week. This is unacceptable and poor customer service. I would like to cancel my subscription and have my money back.

I am coming to grips with having a personality disorder, and I had been feeling frustrated and kind of languishing in my life. I was doing things but not really accomplishing what I wanted to or needed to.

I've done various forms of therapy in the past five years, and BetterHelp is by far my favorite - the variety of options, even including group sessions, makes it a great single source. It's incredibly affordable as well. Being able to easily change my therapist and having another one within 24 hours is a huge benefit, taking away some of the anxiety of investing into therapy even without the guarantee that the therapist you're working with is able to click with you. After repeated requests for the promised update matching me with a therapist, I received a boilerplate rejection letter falsely stating: "We truly understand your concerns..." Impossible, since no one had spoken to me.

It said they "may not be the best solution for you..." Which is true of any choice, good or bad. It's as helpful as pointing out "something's going to happen today..." Which is true, but useless.

They falsely claimed "you can find many available therapists in your area by clicking here"...ridiculous. Again, they knew nothing about my situation and didn't care to.

I have just sign up a few days ago in my college, and I was matched to a counselor quickly and started my therapy. He is very kind and patient, listens to my words and replies to me.

Although we lived in different time zones, it didn't matter.

But when I went back home, I found that I couldn't log in to the website, and I even couldn't receive any letter. I felt very sad, and I contacted BetterHelp at the moment, and they were really kind and warm.

BetterHelp is great. I've dropped from almost every therapist and psychiatrist because of issues out of my control, and this is my third time using the service. As far as charging immediately, no, they don't. After the free trial week they do, but you do have to give credit card information when you sign up. You can also change your plan whenever you want, even before you're charged your first payment. So some facts in this article are wrong. You also can get free live session based on your plan, and they're not just 20 minutes. I made one recently which will be coming up and have had one before, and you get to be on it for as long as you want.

I wasn't sure about BetterHelp when I was recommended to it by an internet friend, but now I recommend it to everyone.

Being a stay at home mum for a special needs daughter and also a toddler I don't have time without children to get to a therapist even though I needed help. Being able to message my therapist through the website whenever I want has allowed me to be able to get the help I need.

I live in a country where it is very expensive to access help regarding mental health. There is a huge stigma here regarding mental health and no one dare seek it for being called "crazy." Unfortunately, I went through a traumatic experience that was grief related and I had so much trouble dealing through my trauma.

Going through tough and stressful times, it was really difficult to face alone, especially with the financial struggle that I was going through. I didn't think I would be able to afford a therapist on a week to week basis because of how expensive the prices were going to be. However, BetterHelp is such a great organization! They're cheaper prices and they offer quick and easy financial aid just in case because they know that a lot of their clients can't fully afford therapy. I was in my post-grad work and in a "real job." The stress of my work and family lives were pretty heavy. I was looking for a person I could talk to by letter. I am busy during the day and the rough times are usually late at night. Jesse is perfect for me and what I need. You can talk to people and see if you click. The first lady I contacted wasn't right for me. I liked her, but in the questions we had back and forth I could tell we weren't a good fit. No harm, no foul and no worries. I liked that. Keep going! I have never had the experience of a company turning away a payment made because they feel that I do not fit into their preferred customer. I had done the free trial with them and a few months before and things were great. I couldn't afford the price of full-time counseling, so I waited a few months to save some money and pay for a month to see if it helped. After all that, they sent the money back saying I am not going to benefit from online counseling. How do they know what I need? They haven't even let me share my story with a counselor just looked at my form and turned me away. Unbelievable. Don't waste your time with them.

I have had about 6 or 7 counselors. The first one canceled an appointment 15 minutes before the start. I had canceled another appointment to keep this counseling appt. The second one LEFT during a live chat without telling me why. The other ones were just bad. The last one started out really good, but became unresponsive to my messages. The last message she sent me was mean. She said, "I'm not a mind reader, Nancy."
